Readeez are a new way to learn reading, math, ESL, spelling and other useful things. A Readee is a short video, usually musical, where you see and hear every syllable at the same time. We call this SyllableSync. More than 150 Readeez have been produced so far. Readeez were created by Michael Rachap.

"Jet Pack" by Recess Monkey

The history of Readeez and Recess Monkey dates back to KindieFest 2010, when I moderated a panel discussion on music videos that featured RM's bass player, Jack Forman. A couple months later I made this video, incorporating some footage from the band's own super-fun mini-movie.

The month after that, the band was on an East Coast tour, far from their native Seattle, and I got to sit in with them ("sit in" being the musical term for "play with") at the Decatur library, near Atlanta. Here's one of the numbers, complete with a zillion dancing kids. 

Recess Monkey have made tons of great videos and great records, and they put on a heck of a show. Go see what I mean.
